How we operate…
The organization’s philosophy includes the mantra “The most important things in life are not things”.  Values into Action values relationships; we respect and honor the important, even critical role, family and friends play in our lives.  And ultimately, the person and her chosen allies direct the services.  To that end, Values into Action associates are available and accessible to its customers…all of them.

Formally, the organization has established the following processes for maintaining open and frequent communication (which we believe is at the heart of effective relationships):

• At least once a month, the person and her personal assistants meet with the directors.  An agenda is developed prior to the meeting so that all have the opportunity to fully engage and participate during the time together.  The purpose of these meetings is to build strong, self-directed teams who are led by the person, with Values into Action associates offering guidance through their knowledge and experience.  Discussions focus on what’s working and what’s not as well as what people need from the organization or others to help the person lead the kind of life they want.
  
  
• Once a month, all-agency gatherings are held, with all members present, including the CEO.  The customers, their families, friends and chosen allies are invited and expected to participate.  It is a time of community building where an invited speaker will discuss a specific theme/topic of interest;   individual and team successes are celebrated; major incidents are discussed (confidentiality and privacy considered and respected) and strategic planning and decisions regarding the organization are made.
  
  
• Values into Action associates are available through individual meetings, telephone calls and email.
  
  
• An on-call system insures accessibility, information and support when emergencies arise.
